MajiMind’s mission is to help people change the way their brains react to stress and past trauma. When someone experiences trauma, especially at a young age, it can cause the brain’s emotional center (called the Limbic System) to take control. This part of the brain stores trauma and triggers automatic reactions like fight, flight, freeze, fawn, or fix. When the brain is stuck in these patterns, it becomes harder to think clearly, learn new things, understand nuances, remember information, and manage emotions.

MajiMind has developed exercises that, when practiced regularly and with repetition, help the brain become calmer and more focused. This makes it easier to manage stress, think critically, and process emotions in healthier ways, supporting personal growth and success. At the same time, these exercises improve cognitive flexibility.

In theory, MajiMind’s exercises are designed to gradually shift brain activity from the Limbic System to the Frontal Cortex, which serves as the brain’s healthy regulator, including the management of emotions.

Team

Elise

Co-Founder, Co-CEO

At an early age, Elise saw education as a way to bring light to those in need. Her wish for human emotional growth became hopeful when she discovered the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Community Education and Social Change program. Inspired by leadership, non-profit work, and creating change, Elise declared her major. She soon learned how deeply social inequalities impact humanity, revealing a world shaped by insecurity and fear rather than authenticity. This realization fueled her curiosity and passion for social justice.

Around this time, Elise and Monique founded a non-profit, grateful for the chance to create change but aware of the responsibility it entails. Determined to deepen her understanding, she created an individual degree, Patterns of Social Inequalities, combining Legal Studies, Sociology, Economics, and more to explore the roots of discrimination, especially hegemony. Elise is collaborating with Monique to provide tools for emotional and mental healing. In addition, she works at a residential therapeutic school, where she helps students discover their intrinsic motivations and purpose in life. Looking ahead, Elise plans to pursue her master’s degree in social work at Boston University in the fall of 2025.
